Bird netting & spike installation
Netting and spikes are only as good as their installation. Sagging net, wrong mesh, under-tensioned wire — birds find the gap within a week and you’ve paid for scaffolding twice. We specify and install bird netting and spike systems across Melbourne: warehouses, dock canopies, heritage facades, gutters, solar arrays, and commercial orchards.
How we handle it
Specify the system
Species and structure decide the spec — mesh size for pigeons vs sparrows, spike profile for ledges vs gutters, netting for voids, canopies and fruit trees. Wildlife-safe mesh sizing compliant with Victorian netting regulations.
Install to spec
Netting cut, fixed and tensioned to manufacturer specification with proper perimeter fixings — not zip-tied to downpipes. Spikes and wire installed on cleaned, sealed surfaces so they hold.
Clean up & warranty
Roost cleanup and sanitisation before installation, and an installation you won’t be re-buying next season — with WHS documentation for work at height.

Common questions
Do you install netting on occupied commercial buildings?
Yes — most of our netting work is on operating warehouses, loading docks and retail buildings. We schedule around your operations and provide WHS documentation for the height work.
What mesh size do I need?
Depends on the bird: 50mm handles pigeons, smaller species need tighter mesh, and fruit tree netting must meet Victorian wildlife-safe mesh requirements. We specify it in the quote so you’re covered either way.
Can you net fruit trees and orchards?
Yes — from single backyard-scale trees at commercial sites to full orchard runs, using wildlife-safe netting that complies with Victorian regulations.
How long does netting last?
Quality UV-stabilised HDPE netting installed at correct tension lasts ten years or more. The cheap version fails in one or two — that’s the difference the installation makes.
