Bird proofing

Pigeons and starlings don’t just make a mess. Droppings are corrosive to roofing and plant, foul stock and vehicles below roost lines, carry disease risk that matters to food and healthcare sites, and nesting material blocks gutters and HVAC intakes. Proofing removes the roost — permanently.

Our approach

How we handle it

Roost assessment

We identify the species, the roost and nesting points — parapets, beams, signage, dock canopies, plant decks — and what’s attracting them to your building.

System design

Spike systems for ledges, netting for large voids and dock canopies, wire systems for parapets — matched to the structure and the bird pressure, not one-size-fits-all.

Installation & cleanup

Proofing installed to manufacturer spec, with roost cleanup and sanitisation so the site doesn’t keep attracting birds back to old scent markers.

FAQ

Common questions

Why not just use a plastic owl or sound device?

Birds habituate to scare devices within weeks. Physical exclusion — spikes, netting, wire — is the only approach that solves a roost permanently.

Can you net a loading dock canopy?

Yes — dock canopies and large voids are netting jobs, sized and tensioned to spec so birds can’t get behind it.

Do you clean up the droppings as well?

Yes. Roost cleanup and sanitisation is part of the job — droppings are corrosive and a slip and disease hazard, and leftover scent attracts birds back.

Is the work insured for roof access?

Yes — fully insured with WHS documentation for work at height, available for your contractor induction file.
